about
Sound installation that aims to interpret the black hole V404 Cygni, a black hole with peculiar behavior. After two decades without activity, the celestial object, in 2015, started to shoot gamma ray jets at high speed in different directions, resulting in a movement in space time around its proximity. Usually the jets are expelled by black holes in a direction perpendicular to the ring of matter that surrounds them. What is surprising in the case of the V404 Cygni is that the rays are fired in a very fast-paced act, in different directions and in a curved shape.
Astronomers believe that the ring of matter and the black hole are misaligned, which would explain the phenomenon. What would be its normal behaviour, according to several studies, would be that the disk and the center of the hole rotate on the same axis. The misalignment could have been caused by an impact from the stellar explosion.
